Bowling

Strike Up Some Fun!

Bowling combines skill, concentration and a little bit of luck in a sport athletes of many different ability levels can enjoy. Athletes work on their approach, aim and delivery while building consistency and confidence on the lanes. Special Olympics bowling offers opportunities for individual and team competition, making it both a competitive and highly social sport. Bowling can be adapted for athletes with a wide range of physical abilities. Bumpers and other assistance can be used when needed, and coaches and volunteers are there to help each athlete participate as independently as possible.

What athletes need: Comfortable clothing and socks. Bowling shoes and bowling balls are available at the bowling center, although athletes who have their own properly fitted equipment are welcome to use it.

Season: Bowling is generally a fall sport, with practices beginning in late summer or early fall. Area and regional competitions typically take place during the fall, with the season concluding with the final competition scheduled by Special Olympics Texas.

Interested in joining the team? Contact our head coach to learn about practices, eligibility and how to get started.
