Powerlifting
Raise the Bar!
Special Olympics powerlifting is a strength-based sport that showcases athletes’ discipline, determination, and skill across three events: Back Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift. Competitors are grouped by weight class and gender, allowing each athlete to demonstrate personal progress and sportsmanship. Beyond building physical strength, powerlifting promotes confidence, focus, and camaraderie among athletes of all abilities.
This is a combined sport: Aggie Bombers (athletes age 18 and over) practice and compete with the College Station A Team athletes (under age 18). Athletes must be 14 years old to participate in practices or competitions.
Season:Â Fall practices take place May through August. Winter practices are December through February. Area and regional competitions are in Conroe in January and winter games are in Bee Cave, Texas, in February.
