Roll, Aim & Have Fun With Aggies!

Bocce is a fun, strategic sport in which athletes roll balls toward a smaller target ball, called the palina, with the goal of getting their balls closest to the target. One of the most popular sports in Special Olympics worldwide, bocce combines skill, concentration and strategy with plenty of opportunities for teamwork and social interaction.

Each year, the Aggie Bombers partner with Texas A&M University to host a Unified Bocce tournament. You don’t have to be a Bocce team member or even have played bocce before to enjoy this evening. Typically, those who are members of the traditional Aggie Bombers’ bocce team participate in the Unified tournament, but all are welcome!

What athletes need: Comfortable athletic clothing and closed-toe athletic shoes. Bocce balls and other competition equipment are provided by the team or competition venue.

Season: The Unified Bocce Tournament is typically held on a weekday evening around 6 p.m. in the summer (June or July) at the Texas A&M University Penberthy Fields. The tournament is a fun event that includes a light meal and bocce with Texas A&M students for about two to three hours.
