Flag Football
Ready, Set, Hike!
Special Olympics Flag Football brings the excitement and teamwork of football to the field in a fast-paced, non-contact format. Athletes build skills in passing, catching, running, defense and flag pulling while developing fitness, confidence and teamwork. The Aggie Bombers have a long-standing tradition of talented flag football players, including two teams that have competed in national competitions.
What athletes need: Athletes should wear comfortable shorts and a T-shirt, sturdy athletic shoes (with or without cleats), and a mouthguard. The Brazos Valley Booster Club provides team uniforms and all other football equipment.
Season: Flag football is a fall sport, with practices typically beginning in late summer and continuing through the fall competition season. Athletes practice on Sunday evenings at 5:30 p.m. at Central Park in College Station to build skills and prepare for local and regional Special Olympics competitions.
